Community Futures Development Corporations in Ontario (www.oacfdc.com)The Ontario Association of CFDC’s site offers a map of and links to the CFDC offices throughout Ontario. FedNor is a federal regional development organization in Ontario that works with a variety of partners, as both a facilitator and catalyst, to help create an environment in which communities can thrive, businesses can grow and people can prosper. The site includes information on the Eastern Ontario Development Program, as well as resources for business and recent publications. LAS is mandated to work with municipalities, their agencies, boards and commissions, as well as other organizations of Ontario’s broader public sector, to assist them in reducing the cost of their expenditures and in increasing their levels of revenues. The site features tools and resources for energy and insurance planning for municipalities and related organizations. Local Boards are non-for-profit, community-based organizations comprised of volunteers from business, labour, education and community groups. Their role is to work at the local level in developing solutions to labour market needs and issues that have been identified by the community. This site is a joint project of the Ontario Ministry of Enterprise, Opportunity and Innovation, the Ontario Investment Service, and the Ontario Real Estate Association. The Rural Secretariat, as part of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, works in partnership with Canadians to build strong, dynamic communities.
